Runner Instructions

Runner instructions for Virtual 4 mile and Kid’s ½ mile runs.

Thank you for signing up for the 2020 Virtual Firecracker4 and continuing to support our efforts to bring competitive, fun, and family friendly events to the capital district.  This year is more about fun and continuity than competition but we know some will still want to see where they stack up.

Please read this email in its entirety. It contains all of the information for how to print your bib, upload your results, get your finisher certificate and track results. You can also view team info for the Run Your Colors teams.

When and Where:

You can run your race anywhere you have a 4 mile course available and upload your results any time between 6am June 28th and 11pm July 11th.  While we would like to see a lot of runners participate on the 4th, this wide time frame will allow everyone the chance to pick a good weather day and maintain social distancing guidelines.  We do have a few course suggestions for you.  We do not recommend using the traditional Firecracker4 course through downtown Saratoga Springs as there is much foot and vehicle traffic to contend with.  Please be safe out there wherever you decide to run.

There are also great stretches of the Zim Smith trail, Mohawk Hudson Bike Path and the Corning Preserve bike path that have either ¼ miles or some race mile markers on them.

The Saratoga Battlefield has ¼ miles marked and would be a great 2mile out and 2 mile back.

A 4 mile course could also be run in the Luther Forest area of Malta.

We cannot make a recommendation one way or the other but will say that we encourage following the current Covid19 guidelines in your area.  The current guidelines for the capital district in the state of NY are that groups of up to 25 people while trying to maintain 6ft of separation and covering the face when you are closer than 6ft.  Please be courteous to other runners and take proper precautions where needed.

You can click on this link or go into your profile and print your bib. Your bib number is at the top of this email.

Once you have finished your run you can go to the results page by clicking the link below and entering your time.  We have set this up so that you can enter your email address or last four digits of your phone number rather than fully logging in to your RSU account.  The results are searchable so you can see how your friends did too.

To print your certificate just click here:
